Super-duper Tuesday to you.
The Beast: I admit that I have a certain level of appreciation for my vehicle and its performance over the past few weeks, so today must have been like a trip to the spa for my truck. After driving around for a long while last night, the only spot that we could find had a meter so beginning at 9am I started making visits to the vehicle every couple of hours to feed the meter. I chose to multi-task by finding lunch from an overpriced deli on the second trip, and on the third trip I went for an hour walk/job down to Fort Mason and the wharfs to see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. On the way back I even drove around and challenged another parking spot that was less than half an hour from Bryan’s apartment. (results described in the #’s below)

It was actually a day of work for both Bryan and I. When the whistle finally blew around 7:30, we went out for sushi at Wasabi & Ginger and then went to the Buccaneer Beer and then to a venue that Bryan only introduced as ‘small bar.’ It was actually a tiny bar right around the corner from Bryan’s place (between Russian Hill and Marina District) named The Blackhorse London Deli. Approximately the size of most apartment living rooms, with a large wooden bar, stools, and a claw-foot bathtub filled with ice and bottles of beer, the place was absolutely packed with ten patrons and Vince, the bartender. With that limited space, it was inevitable that everyone be engaged in a single conversation, and at one point one third of the people in the bar were named Brian or Bryan, and we also met two women who are aspiring opera singers.

Quote from Label of Lagunitas Pils-Czech Style Pilsner: “Like Adam and Eve, Isaac and Ishmael, Mao and Confuscious, Good and Evil, Day and Night, Hittites and Visigoths, John and Lorena, or Groucho and Moe, Ales and Lagers are as different as can be. Still we love each for who they are, separately but equally, with liberty, and justice, for all. Cheers!”
